Thank you, Sparkle, for the pawsome prize!
I had mom enter the "guess the birthday present" contest on Sparkle's blog, and I was one of the lucky winners!! My prize came this week, and it was very three awsome catnip sardines in a tin!! There was also a bookmark, which I tested for paper quality by chewing on the corner, and a pawtographed card! I have even shared one of the toys with Sophie (because mom said I had to), and gave the bookmark to Mom. Thank you, Sparkle!!

DAPHNE NEEDS YOUR HELP!
Hi Everyone;
Daphne is ONLY 3 YRS OLD, and was brought in to a local vet to be PTS, because the owner did not follow the instructions of the vet, and then said she could not afford surgery or a wheelchair for this poor girl.
As you can see in the attached picture Daphne is loving life, and moving herself all over, ready and willing to go.

Meow, Meow, MEOW!!
Poor Teddy went to the V-E-T yesterday to have his thyroid levels checked again, as on our last visit they still weren't great. He had been crying for food again, so I knew something was going on. His levels had been a 4, which was still high, but better, but today's check showed a 7!! That was back where he was when he started the medication. Argh. So he's on a slightly higher does, which he started last night. As a possible side effect to the medication he meowed ALL LAST NIGHT!! Poor guy...I know he is feeling icky, but it was driving us crazy! I'm hoping that he can get used to the new dose and get back to his normal "conversations" with us! He goes back in a month for another check up. Sophie is enjoying the increased amounts of gushy fud that is being served because of Teddy's appetite, so she is happy with the situation! Between the two of them, Sophers and Teddy are keeping Weruva in business :)

PSA Repost!
Reposted from The Adventures of Space Paws-- Please pass along!
See this guy here playing in the pool? He's happy...he's 3 years old and 87 lbs. Yeah he's a big boy he's a pitbull. He's sweet as pie with people but he is dog aggressive. (though to note he came to us with a sister who he got along with smashingly until she was adopted) His owners can no longer care for him so we have been caring for him at my job. None of the local shelters or rescues we have come into contact with will take him. Our building is about to undergo a renovation and is due soon to be under construction so Rocky is desperate to find a place to go...whether it be a forever or halfway home. HE HAS TILL MONDAY 6/20! If Rocky cannot find a place to go his time will be up. So if you or anyone you know can possibly help you can contact us to inquire about Rocky! East Shore Veterinary Hospital

New Toy Suggestion??
Hi everyone...this is Teddy! Mom says that she will buy me a new toy to make up for putting a pineapple on my head, but I am very picky! Do you have a toy you really like? I want her to buy me something good, because the last thing she bought was an emery cat scratchy thing, and I HATED it.

Teddy Thyroid Update!
Ted went to the v-e-t yesterday and had his thyroid re-checked. It had been over 7, but now is down to 4.5, so the meds are working. Hooray!! So he will continue on his same dose, and then get re-checked in a month to see if the levels are lower or if we need to adjust. He's great about taking his pill. I stick it in a pill pocket & he scarfs it down! The pill is just an added bonus to the treat--if it falls out he picks the pill up and eats it seperately. Pics as soon as the camera cooperates!

:(
Teddy had a trip to the V-E-T yesterday, which he did not enjoy. He had blood taken, and it turns out he is having thyroid issues. He had been getting VERY cranky, crying all the time, eating a lot, but still losing weight, so I thought it was best that he have a trip to the doctor. He is now on medication (pills, unfortunately) and has to go back in 3 weeks for a follow-up appointment. Paws crossed that he is better then!

Tummy Contest Entry!
The kitties over at the OK Cats blog are having a tummy photo contest! Teddy has allowed me to enter an older picture of his floof, as he feels that this is his best angle. Please note the toe floof visable on his hind foot!

Teddy's Valentine
I made some cupcakes for my husband to have with his coffee. Teddy decided that they were actually for him. He thinks most food items are for him. I caught him this morning on the table having a nice little snack. Of course, Sophie had to get in on the act too, just in case something fell on the floor. :) Forgive lack of music in this video--this is my first video post ever, so I have NO CLUE how to play with it. Maybe Windows Movie maker or whatever?? Ignore my dorky voice!

Intro to the Kitties
I have decided to make this solely a cat & animal blog, as I am going to start a new one for book reviews. So I need to introduce the two kitties that run our apartment. :)
First: Teddy, aka: TeddyCat, MeepMeep, SuperTed, Captain Pencil-Leg, and last, but not least "wide-load". Teddy is 13 years old and is a Ragamuffin. He isn't the sharpest crayon in the box, but we love him. His favorite activity is eating, followed by napping, and then perhaps eating some paper for a bit of variety. He talks a lot, usually at 6am while sitting on my chest. He also likes to try & groom Sophie, but she isn't sure how she feels about this, and someone usually ends up getting kicked in the face.
Sophie is our 2nd cat. She is a Ragdoll that we got from a rescue group in NJ. She was rescued by them from a high-kill shelter in PA after being abandoned in a field. She is a sweet little girl and I can't imagine how anyone could just dump her somewhere. Grrr... She was terrified of everything when we first brought her home, and spent most of her time hiding behind books in a shelf. But eventually we would see glimpses of her running into other rooms & exploring. A year and a half later, she is an affectionate, playful girl, who enjoys playing with her jingle toys, chasing her big brother, Teddy, napping on our bed, and picking all the good bits out of her kibble! She doesn't meow unless she is very upset or excited about something. Instead, she makes little chirping and purring noises. She still hides whenever anyone comes over, but she has made great progress! She is also known as Sophers, SopherDopher, Stouffers, Princess WiggleButt, and Puzzle face (to the tune by LadyGaGa) as she has little markings on her face that look like puzzle pieces.
I will try & post pictures of Sophie & Ted in a bit if blogger cooperates!
